In autumn, the hills of Torrechiara are ablaze with red, yellow and brown, making the Castle even more fascinating.
Starting from the Historic Village of Torrechiara, after admiring the splendid Castle we will walk along the new Art Path that develops along the historic San Michele canal, built in the fifteenth century by the lord of the Rossi to bring water to the castle, and subsequently extended over the centuries for the irrigation of the surrounding fields and the cultivation of agricultural products.
The works of the artists we will meet along the way touch on all the themes that characterize the territory.
The walk crosses the vineyards from which the wine of the hills originates, and to fully appreciate its goodness we will stop for a tasting in a typical winery of the area.
We will conclude the circular tour through a part of the Via di Linari, an ancient route that reaches Tuscany through the Lagastrello Pass and which takes the name of the Abbey whose remains still testify to the great importance of the past at Malpasso.
Departure from Torrechiara (215 meters above sea level), we will follow the Art Path up to Cascinapiano where we will begin to climb to intersect the ancient path of the Via di Linari until we cross Vidiana 330 meters above sea level) and Casatico (380 meters above sea level). From here we will descend towards Goiano to return to the starting point through a panoramic path that will allow us to observe the Castle from an unusual angle.
