Emilia is preparing to welcome the influx of thousands of pilgrims along the Historic Paths on the occasion of the 2025 Jubilee.

During the International Tourism Exchange (BIT) in Milan, the president of Visit Emilia, Simone Fornasari, presented the two Jubilee Paths – the Via Francigena, the Via Matildica del Volto Santo and the rich calendar of initiatives that will involve the provinces of Parma, Piacenza and Reggio Emilia.

A significant moment was the delivery to Roberta Frisoni – Councillor for Tourism of the Emilia-Romagna Region – of the new metal cup, chosen as a symbolic gadget of the pilgrimage. This eco-sustainable souvenir will be given to pilgrims who ask for credentials from the IAT also on the route of the other Emilian paths to Rome: Via degli Abati, Cammino di San Colombano, Via dei Linari, Sentiero dei Ducati.

“In addition to local tourism, international travelers can also give a lot of satisfaction – said Councilor Roberta Frisoni – because the international tourist is looking for different experiences: in the open air, on foot or by bike. He wants time for himself, to reflect or to spend with his family.”

Among the main events, the Via Francigena Festival stands out, scheduled in Fidenza (Fidenza) from 8 to 11 May 2025, a city that represents a fundamental crossroads of this historical itinerary. To facilitate the journey of pilgrims, it has also been developed the “Emilia Apennines” application, a digital tool to better explore the territory of the historical paths.
