This protected area is an incredible place for the mix of nature and tourism, culture and history that it is able to offer its visitors. Among small settlements and perched villages, between placid pastures and pristine woods, the park presents itself as a heritage of floral and faunal biodiversity unique in the heart of the great Tuscan-Emilian Apennines National Park.

Crossed by the long path of the Alta Via dei Parchi, it has environments composed of different natural habitats that, starting from the hilly valley floor of the Parma and Cedra rivers, mark the surrounding environment up to reach the highest peaks (over 1800 m s.l.m. of Mount Sillara).

Every year it welcomes experienced hikers and outdoor enthusiasts who come here to find direct contact with nature and with themselves and enjoy one of the many delicacies that this area offers from a gastronomic point of view.

Reachable through itineraries and open paths along the ridges, the glacial lakes offer themselves as real natural “balconies” to look out over. In winter with snowshoes or deep sea skiing; in spring, after the melting of the snow, with long walks through lush grasslands; in summer with trekking routes until sunset and in autumn among the beech woods with bright colors.

Whatever the taste and level of sportiness, the Park is able to offer in every season Multiple itineraries and activities (ski mountaineering, trekking of one or more days, mountain bike trails, climbing, etc.), which bring the visitor closer to see and touch the beauty of these places.
