The mountain takes a revenge, in the basket of the Pnrr, and the lion’s share belongs to Berceto: after having centered the B line for the National Villages Plan (with a project for the enhancement of the Via Francigena), the territory takes home the first place in Emilia-Romagna with the highest score (82) for the “Rural Architecture” call organized by the Ministry of Culture and managed by the Regional Culture and Landscape Department.
In fact, the “Casa Cani” farm participated in the public notice for the presentation of proposals for intervention for the restoration and enhancement of the architectural heritage and rural landscape with the project “Agri-Cultural-Lab – The laboratory for the agricultural traditions of the Apennines”.
The intervention admitted to funding (80% of the total, therefore 150,000 euros out of almost 193,000) will affect a building located about one kilometer from the route of the Via Francigena and about 5 from the passage of the Alta Via dei Parchi, in a landscape context of value.
The building, which is part of “Casa Cani”, falls within an area where it is possible to enhance integrations and synergies with various strategic projects.
“The Agri-Cultural-Lab allows us to give a “common home” to the many activities that are being born – explains the architect Emanuele Mazzadi -. The ferment in the valley is palpable: young technicians who are winning regional and national tenders, new farms that are venturing into the recovery of ancient techniques and abandoned farms, artisans who express themselves in the recovery of historic buildings. A positive response to the decline and prevailing pessimism: a breath of optimism and concreteness, which gives a glimpse of a community of the future”.
It will not only be a recovered building, “but a place to condense the immaterial culture and to transfer it to the new generations, thanks to a series of edifying activities. In this sense, the partnerships activated are strategic», explain the designers. There are seven partners with whom various events will be activated every year: the Alte Valli Biodistrict (the largest in Europe, which includes 25 municipalities of four provinces of three regions); the Association of environmental hiking guides Valtaro and Valceno (active in the area for 10 years); the training institution Forma Futuro (which will focus on the dissemination of the ancient knowledge of local artisans); the Fantasia Consortium (for the inclusion of people belonging to “vulnerable categories”); the Istituto Comprensivo «Luigi Malerba» of Fornovo and the nursery «San Giovanni Bosco» of Berceto (even schools can take advantage of the Agri-Cultural-Lab and crops for courses and days in nature); and the Casa Residenza Gino Cavazzini in Berceto.
