Pier Maria Rossi built the Abbey of Santa Maria of the Snow in 1471, probably for his illegitimate son Ugolino, who was at that time the abbot of San Giovanni Evangelista in Parma.
Beside the church, the convent included a bell tower, a dormitory, a graveyard, a refectory, a cloister, a garden and a vegetable garden sufficient to support a community of 20 monks belonging to Santa Giustina da Padova congregation.
Products for beauty and health, made by monks thanks to old recipes and beeswax, are on sale in the shop inside the Abbey.
The lodges are single and double rooms ensuite, located at the first floor. The Badia offers also breakfast and full board.
Bedrooms are equipped of sheets and towels.
