The Path of Tidone it’s a long way 69 km to go to on foot, by bike or on horseback and that runs along the entire shaft of the Tidone stream through two regions (Emilia-Romagna and Lombardy), two provinces (Piacenza and Pavia) and several municipalities (Rottofreno, Sarmato, Borgonovo Val Tidone, Pianello Val Tidone, Alta Val Tidone, Zavattarello, Romagnese). It starts from Boscone Cusani (in Gerra Vecchia) in the municipality of Rottofreno and flanks the Po to the point where the Tidone flows into the river and then goes up the stream to the Molato dam where, along Lake Trebecco, it reaches the province of Pavia and ends at its source in Case Matti.

Except for the few kilometers in which it distances itself from the stream and uses short stretches of secondary asphalt roads, the Path is presented for almost all with dirt or gravel bottom and provides for the crossing of the stream in some points through Fords, but they can be easily avoided by cyclists and pedestrians thanks to short variants punctually indicated with special tables.

Along the way there are other wooden signs that indicate the route and give information on the progressive distance. In the most hilly part of the Piacenza side there are some equipped rest areas and bulletin boards that give information on the entire route, as well as on the flora and fauna present in the area.

The Sentiero del Tidone is an ambitious project carried out entirely without the use of public capital and thanks to the work and determination of a group of volunteers from whom the initiative started and who still deals with constancy and passion in the maintenance of the path itself.

It represents an important opportunity for tourism and environmental enhancement to discover the beauty and variety of the landscape of Val Tidone following an unusual path.

The Sentiero del Tidone is an excellent starting point to discover the Val Tidone, its picturesque villages and wide spaces to live in the name of relaxation.

Ideal destination for a weekend out of town, mountain biking, trekking and horseback riding.

There are numerous places where you can taste the traditional wines of the area, such as Gutturnio, Ortrugo and Malvasia, in addition to typical products such as Salumi Piacentini DOP, pisarei & fasò, tortelli, batarò, chisöla, buslan.
