The LAG of the Duchy has opened two new calls that provide important funding opportunities to support the development of rural areas in the provinces of Parma and Piacenza. Two different measures in terms of recipients and purposes, but united by the objective of strengthening the attractiveness of the territories, improving services and promoting local economic growth.
The new opportunities concern, on the one hand, public bodies interested in investing in tourism infrastructure and, on the other, craft businesses that intend to develop or modernize their business through productive investments.
Tourism infrastructure: support for public investment
The DU_AS13B – Tourist Infrastructure call is aimed at public bodies and supports interventions aimed at the creation, improvement and qualification of infrastructures dedicated to the tourist use of the territory.
The goal is to encourage the development of rural areas through investments capable of improving the reception, usability and accessibility of destinations, enhancing the local environmental, landscape and cultural heritage. Among the interventions that can find space within the measure are, for example, the creation or improvement of paths, rest areas, information points and other infrastructures functional to the growth of rural and outdoor tourism.
This is a particularly interesting measure for municipalities and local authorities that intend to invest in the enhancement of their territory and in the strengthening of the tourist offer, which is increasingly strategic for the development of inland areas.
Craft activities: grants for businesses in rural areas
The second opportunity concerns the call DU_SRD14A – Action B) Non-agricultural productive investments in rural areas – Craft activities, aimed at micro and small artisan enterprises operating in the territories of the LAG.
The measure is aimed at supporting productive investments that allow companies to improve their competitiveness, innovate business processes, expand their business or increase the efficiency of production facilities.
The eligible expenses include interventions on company buildings, plant works, purchase of machinery, equipment and equipment necessary for the development of the business. The aim is to strengthen the local economic fabric and encourage the permanence of productive activities in rural areas, contributing to the vitality of communities and the creation of new employment opportunities.
Two tools for the growth of the territory
The simultaneous opening of the two calls represents an important signal for the territory. On the one hand, investments are being made in improving infrastructures and services to support tourism; on the other hand, the system of local businesses is supported, a fundamental element to keep rural areas alive and attractive .
