The “Little Winter Festival”
will arrive in Sala Baganza, the festival that for five years has been offering a month-long calendar of flavors, colors, lights and sounds, organized by the municipal administration together with the Proloco and other dynamic Salesian associations. A Festival, in spite of the name, that is anything but ” small” and that this year offers several novelties, in addition to the more traditional events, those that cannot be missed.
Sunday, December 3, the day that also represents the inaugural stage of the second edition of “December with taste”, the food and wine itinerary accompanied by music, art and history that will take place between Sala Baganza, Collecchio, Traversetolo and Felino, promoted by the Unione Pedemontana Parmense in collaboration with the municipal administrations and local associations.
At 10.00 a.m . the procession will start from the Town Hall and will end in the square with the official opening of “Dolce Rocca”, a unique event that hosts tastings of wines and pastry and bakery products in the precious rooms of the Salesian manor.
At 12.30 p.m., as per tradition, you can have lunch in the square, with the “longest Cotechino in the province”, walking anolini, polenta and many other delicacies, while after lunch, for the little ones, but not only, the “Games of the past”.
At 4.00 p.m. the appointment with the sommeliers of the AIS (Italian Sommelier Association) for the meeting “Walnut cake meets Malvasia”
At 5.00 p.m . a snack for children waiting for the lighting of the tree, scheduled for 6 p.m., with the light show and street artists ” Orbit” by the ParolaBianca company in collaboration with the Incredible Office. The afternoon will continue with roasted chestnuts and mulled wine.
Thursday, December 7 at 4.00 p.m., with the readings of ” Tales in front of the fire” at the ” Vilma Preti” Library, always dedicated to children.
On Saturday, December 9th, the “Treasure Hunt in the cellar… Christmas is approaching.”
On Sunday, December 10th , one of the highlights of this year, the show “A Cup of the Sea in a Storm”, an evocative journey conceived and conducted by the actor Roberto Abbiati immersed in a spectacular scenography, set up in the Oratory of the Rocca, freely based on Melville’s Moby Dick , always in collaboration with the Incredible Office.
On Thursday 14 December , again at 4.00 pm, the ” Tales in front of the fire” return to the Library, with a nice Christmas workshop, dedicated to younger children (3-6 years)
On Wednesday 20 December at 4.30 p.m . in the Library, a new appointment for young people with “Stories around the tree”, narrated by Alessandro Rivola.
On Saturday 23rd at 6.00 p.m. the historic ” Torchlight Procession for Peace ” on the eve through the streets of the town, which will end with the songs of the “Gospel Cake & Pipe Choir”.
On Monday, January 1 , 2024, the New Year’s Concert ” Candle Castle” in the Oratory of the Assumption (Reservations recommended by December 30), while
On Saturday, January 6th , the Befana will take away the calories accumulated during the Christmas holidays with the inevitable “Mario Dieci” Memorial Walk starting at 8.30 a.m. (place to be defined).
From 13 December to 14 January, in Rocca Sanvitale it will also be possible to admire the “Exhibition of works in cardboard”, curated by Gianni Gallo.
