New appointment of “Val Tidone Slowly – 2023 Edition” next Sunday 29 October: this time the AIGAE environmental hiking guide Mirna Filippi will accompany participants to learn about saffron, a highly prized spice that is produced in the upper Val Tidone area. In one of these companies, Alessandro Braga’s ARMU, located in the hamlet of Marzonago, there will be a moment when those present will be able to see the flowering of the bulbs that takes place at this time of year.
In addition to the visit to the company, where it will be possible to see the phases of collection and drying of the filaments in the laboratory, during the initiative there will be a speech by Gloria Bolzoni, director of the MAVT (Val Tidone Archaeological Museum), who will talk about this territory rich in archaeological importance, once an important corridor of passages and trade. Finally, there will be a meeting with Katiuscia Girgenti, a young writer and producer of “red gold”.
The excursion includes a route of about 6 kilometers and is tourist/excursion, also suitable for families with children. Hiking shoes with sculpted soles are mandatory, poles are recommended.
Meeting at 9:15 a.m. at the Pecorara parking lot with departure at 9:30 a.m. Packed lunch.
Participation fee € 10 adults, € 8 members of the “Sentiero del Tidone APS” association, free for children under 18 years of age and includes, as usual, the complete organization and the insurance part.
