From 16 September at 09:10 to 29 October in Val Taro.
With the first mushrooms that sprout in the woods, the “Funghi & Friends” Festival arrives in Alta Valtaro, a series of food and wine themed events that brings together the initiatives of the Municipalities of Albareto, Bedonia, Borgo Val di Taro and Compiano.
Mushrooms, truffles and chestnuts are the protagonists in these events, which aim to enhance the typical local products with a view to “slow” tourism, to be lived slowly, to discover the gastronomic excellence of the territory and the traditions linked to them. Every weekend of the months of September and October will be populated with fairs, tastings, festivals. Among the main events certainly the two great Porcini Mushroom Fairs of Borgotaro PGI (the only micete to have this certification in Europe), in Borgo Val di Taro on 16-17 and 23-24 September, and at Albareto the National Fair on 30 September – 1 October.
The chestnut will then be queen on Sunday 8 October with two festivals at the same time, in Borgotaro and Folta di Albareto.
The festival ends the last two weekends of October in Bedonia with the Truffle Festival.
The exhibition is organized by the Municipalities of the participating Municipalities in collaboration with the Union of Municipalities Valli Taro and Ceno and the support of Emilia Wine Experience for Destinazione Emilia.
