Sunday 26 February 2023 at 9.30 am in Schia di Tizzano Val Parma (PR) at Chalet Pian della Giara. End of excursion: 2.00 pm
A fun (and safe) “off-piste”, up to Monte Caio and back freeride, to experience the feeling of floating on the snow. From the top of Monte Caio, at an altitude of 1,584 m above sea level, we will observe a wonderful 360 ° panorama, recognizing the main reliefs of the Parma and Reggio Apennines. There will be brief naturalistic explanations and beginners will be provided with the first notions for the use of snowshoes and poles.
Total difference in height uphill and downhill: about 400 m d + and as many downhill
Degree of difficulty: Medium (minimal physical preparation is required)
Estimated travel time (excluding stops): 4h
Required equipment: Hiking boots, jacket, cap, gloves, goggles and sunscreen, backpack with water, snack, snowshoes and trekking poles. We recommend a spare part to keep in the car.
