FRIDAY 21JULY
9.30 pm – THE UNPREPARED
David Lombardi on violin, Sam Mabbett on accordion and Jean Damei on guitar are very active traditional musicians with numerous projects on the international scene. Together they form the trio The Unprepared, a new and explosive Irish and Scottish music project full of dynamism and vibrancy.
Bringing together members of Fourth Moon, Elír and The Canny Band, this trio specializes in interpreting the traditional repertoire in a blend of subtlety and energy that creates music to listen to and dance.
SATURDAY 22 JULY
9.30 pm – BARDS FROM YESTERDAY
The Bards From Yesterday are a young folk-rock hurricane that confirms itself as one of the most prepared bands on the Italian scene, winking at the new trends of the New Trad of Scottish and Irish matrix. From the rediscovery of forgotten repertoires to the writing of their own songs characterized by unexpected rhythmic resolutions, these five Italian musicians have made their way over the years thanks to their deep knowledge of traditional instruments and the agility and taste with which they move from one genre to another to give life to an engaging show brought on more than 400 stages of international venues and festivals.
The ten tracks, including many original compositions of the band, reflect a modern style both in the single choice of tunes, inspired by the style of Lùnasa, Flook, etc., and in the arrangement that constantly seeks new forms and structures in other genres to make the most of the potential of the song.
This operation is curated in the artistic production by Jacopo Ventura (Folkamiseria, Gadan, Lyradanz) and sees the exceptional participation of the Irish artists Jason O’Rourke and Ciara Maguire and Elio Biffi, keyboardist of Penguini Tattici Nucleari.
