Combining the food and wine excellences of a territory with the values of a healthy and correct diet: this is the leitmotif of “Fermento in Val Tidone” the market exhibition now in its fifth edition to be held Sunday 4 June starting at 9 am in Piazza Garibaldi, at the foot of the fortress of Borgonovo Val Tidone in the province of Piacenza.

“Water, flour and wines in ferment” (this is the subtitle of the day) will be the protagonists of the event in all its forms thanks to the local producers of the food and wine supply chain present with their Piacenza excellences and a “Good Market” with banquets that will offer tourists and visitors “bortolina”, “batarò”, fried cake, piadine and tigelle, demonstrating how a modern phenomenon such as “street food” has in fact centuries-old roots in gastronomy Piacentina and Emiliana in general.

At 4.30 pm a guided tour of the fortress of Borgonovo Val Tidone is scheduled (an excellent opportunity to visit the castle, currently the municipal seat) while from 5 pm the workshops for children will start. At 17.30 will be held the conference “Health comes eating … But what are we eating?”, a moment of deepening on the importance of food education that will see producers and experts discuss the topic. At 6.30 pm the “Pane da salame” competition will close the event, organized by Chef to Chef Emilia Romagna Cuochi with the patronage of the Municipality of Borgonovo Val Tidone and the collaboration of the Pro Loco of Borgonovo, the Consorzio Salumi D.o.p. piacentini and the Latteria Pievetta.
