“Passion at San Vitale” will be staged on April 2 (Palm Sunday) at 5 p.m. in the natural amphitheater that houses the ancient Byzantine parish church located on Mount Leto connected via the Golden Trail to Carpineti Castle.

Thanks to the patronage of the Municipality of Carpineti, which has provided men and means, and the participation of dozens of figurants who responded to the casting call launched in recent months, Friends of Motors, Bailando por la Vida and historical folk group Il Melograno are ready to re-enact the Stations of the Cross.

Representative paintings of the life of Jesus will follow one another occupying the entire San Vitale area making it a de facto one and the same stage. Readings freely taken from the Gospels will serve as a thread in the narrative, which will be interspersed with music and songs from the liturgical tradition.

On the day of the event, access to the Pieve di San Vitale area will be facilitated by a shuttle bus, arranged by the city administration. From 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., the bus will leave from the lay-by at the base of Varigolo Street to climb up to the historic grassy plateau. Traffic on this section of the road will be interdicted to cars to ensure necessary safety. In order to allow vehicles to park, a one-way street is planned from Passo del Vo in the direction of St. Catherine with the possibility of parking cars on the side of the road.
