Sunday 15 January 2023 in Gatta and San Bartolomeo will take place the 78th anniversary of the massacre of the partisans of the Pigoni detachment of the 26th Garibaldi Brigade. The initiative is promoted by the Unione Montana dei Comuni dell’Appennino Reggiano, the Municipality of Castelnovo Né Monti, the Municipality of Villa Minozzo, the partisan associations Anpi Alpi-Apc and the historical institute Istoreco.

The program includes the meeting at 9.30 am on Sunday 15 January at the parish church of Gatta for the celebration of the mass in suffrage of the fallen and the blessing, followed by the greeting of the mayor of Castelnovo Monti Enrico Bini and the official commemoration of the honorable Antonella Incerti.

The second part will start at 10.50 with the formation of the procession that will lead to Villa Marta, with a floral tribute to the partisan monument of Gatta and the memorial stone placed in San Bartolomeo, on the opposite side of the source on the river Secchia that marks the beginning of the territory of Villa Minozzo. The event will be accompanied by the musical notes of the Felina Band.

The event will take place in compliance with anti-Covid regulations. The phases of the ceremony will then be visible on the facebook pages of the Municipalities of Castelnovo né Monti and Villa-Minozzo.
