The house was conceived, dreamed, designed and finally built directly by us with the help of a local mason between 2002 and 2008, entirely made of green building, with the careful use of stones, vaults and timber recovered from the ruins of the ancient stable. It is our summer residence, set at the end of the magnificent village of Valditacca. Our house is a warm and welcoming base camp for all lovers of unforgettable excursions or those who want to enjoy the unspoiled peace of the mountain remained unknown to mass tourism.
Valditacca (1010 m a.s.l.), one of the 13 hamlets of the municipality of Monchio delle Corti in the upper Parma valley, is located within the Parco dei Cento Laghi, about 60 km from the Gulf of La Spezia and the Parco delle 5 Terre (Liguria) and 70 km from the Versilia Riviera (Tuscany). These locations can be reached in about an hour’s drive. The village is completely surrounded by suggestive beech woods in which to take enchanting walks and where it is also possible to collect porcini mushrooms or chestnuts depending on the period. The ridge, reachable on foot, backpacking, starting from our house along the most beautiful paths of the valley, divides Emilia Romagna from Tuscany and stands out in its immensity just above the end of the woods, allowing a breathtaking view of the Gulf of La Spezia and the major islands on clear days.
