Going to live in the mountains. The second call of the Region aimed at young couples and families who want to buy a house in one of the 121 municipalities of the Emilia-Romagna Apennines comes alive. From Wednesday 12 October until 10 November it will be possible apply for a non-repayable grant of up to 30 thousand euros. Five million euros are available, a budget that brings to 25 million the total funding made available for an innovative initiative, which aims to combat depopulation, aging and to promote new opportunities for development and enhancement of the Apennine territories. An initiative that immediately met with great success as evidenced by the almost 700 applications funded with the first call of 2020 with which 10 million euros were allocated, then doubled to 20.

“The outcome of the first call confirms that we have intercepted a real need. Hence the decision to reply with this second notice with which we confirm and relaunch a commitment to the mountains, which has seen only in this legislature assign resources to the Apennine territories for 750 million euros, which rise to 2 billion from 2016. Public investments, about half of which directly from the regional budget. Without forgetting the opportunities also offered by the resources of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan and the new programming of European Funds – underlined the President of the Region, Stefano Bonaccini, and the Councilor for the Mountain, Barbara Lori-. A commitment that we want to carry out together with the territories, in close collaboration with local authorities and communities that live and work in the mountains. And that must see the younger generations as protagonists, for a quality and lasting development”.

Compared to the previous call that financed both interventions for the purchase and for the renovation, this supports the only interventions for the purchase of a house to be used as a main residence – the option that had already been preferred – to avoid that regional contributions are added and overlapped with existing national concessions on the redevelopment of buildings, starting from the 110% superbonus.

The call at a glance – The call is aimed at young couples and families, even composed of one person. The applicant must be born after 1^ January 1982, i.e. must not be more than forty years old; be resident in Emilia-Romagna, or carry out an exclusive or prevalent work activity in the region. The Isee of the family unit must not exceed 50 thousand euros. The contribution is addressed to the purchase of accommodation to be used as one’s habitual residence for at least five years. The purchase must be made after the approval of the call, limited to existing housing. The contributions are between a minimum of 10 thousand and a maximum of 30 thousand euros and in any case cannot exceed 50% of the expenses incurred for the purchase of the property. Additional scores are provided for those who have one or more children living together; for those under 30; for those who already have a work activity in an Apennine municipality; for those who live in a non-mountain municipality and transfer their residence to a mountain municipality. Among the rewarding requirements also those referring to housing located in the most disadvantaged municipalities for demographic decrease, old age and income indices.
