Municipalities in pink to host the tenth stage of the Giro d’Italia that will cross the Reggio Apennines on May 16, from Scandiano to Viareggio passing through Viano, Baiso, Carpineti, Felina, Gatta, Villa Minozzo and Civago.

In the municipalities there is a festive atmosphere, citizens, local associations, representatives of local institutions, all work together for this great event that represents a good opportunity to promote landscapes and enchanting places.

In Baiso a large inscription with the name of the Municipality will overlook the Calanchi.

A good opportunity to make known a territory rich in history witnessed by the Castles and the Pieve, of good gastronomy with mountain Parmigiano Reggiano and other delicacies of good food and to promote it.

The Giro will pass in Viano, will climb from the provincial Tresinara and will arrive at the roundabout of the village, will cross Via Toschi and continue along Via Monte Faraone and will arrive at the center of Carpineti; it will continue to Felina, Gatta up to Villa Minozzo. The Giro here will pass for 30 km, the entrance of the riders and the pink caravan is scheduled at 13.20 from the bridge of Gatta di San Bartolomeo; then it will cross the villages of Carniana and Meruzzo, it will pass by the center of Villa Minozzo where the first “flying stage finish” will be positioned. Then the race will continue along the SP9 “delle Forbici” passing through the villages of: Case Zobbi, Calizzo, Castiglione di Asta, Case Balocchi, Pietrachetta, Cervarolo, will cross the center of Civago and will continue along the SP96 passing through the village of Romita. It will continue to Roncatello di Sopra, Piandelagotti, up to Passo delle Radici. Descent through the Garfagnana to the second Mountain Grand Prix of the day: the short climb that leads to Monterpoli. Then begins a stretch of slight slope up to Montemagno, a climb touched several times by the Tirreno-Adriatico. Descent towards Camaiore and arrival in Viareggio in Piazza Mazzini along the roads of Versilia. Last 3000 meters on the Giosuè Carducci seafront without curves: everything set for a group sprint.

The race can be followed throughout Italy, live TV on Rai 2: at 2 pm there will be a connection from the territory of Villa Minozzo where history, landscapes, culture will be mentioned.
