It collects 235 kilometers of trails in the Valnurese part of the Municipality of Ferriere.
Prato Grande and Alta Valnure, at least as far as the territory of the Municipality of Ferriere is concerned, have a new map, more functional to the needs of those who know little about the area, and digitized, the result of a work carried out by a group of enthusiasts, led by Manuel Quagliaroli and Giacomo Bandini, enriched by the photos of Roberto Salini and the design of “Fold Studio”.
The project proposes an innovative trail approach, physically realized on a scale of 1:25000, but completely supported by digital technology. It collects 235 kilometers of trails, for a positive difference in height of 9,500 meters.
“We did it – explains Manuel Quagliaroli – to give a service to all those people who arrive at the Prato Grande refuge and ask: “Where can you go around?”. A simple question, but it deserves precise answers. Then we got carried away and we expanded the range of action to the Valnurese part of the Municipality of Ferriere. In the future we could also integrate the Valdaveto». The map is an open construction site, in the future new routes and improvements can be added. The working group was based on a 2005 map already formulated by Celestina Mulazzi.
“We tried – continues Quagliaroli – to make a leap forward towards digitization, with QR Code, GPX format and vocalization of tracks, so that a cyclist can listen from his smartphone when it’s time to turn right or left. In fact, we have not planted a single pole. In addition, the routes are divided by levels of difficulty, by mode (on foot, by bike, on horseback) and are proposed “ring” or “free”». Each path has in fact been associated with a QRcode that refers to the track directly navigable through “Komoot”, an app that can be downloaded for free from any AppStore. The app also works without internet coverage – accompanying and/or guiding the user wherever he decides to go, even on the most remote off-road trails that have been proposed – and allows you to choose whether to keep the device in sight, or opt for instructions received directly at the voice level. The map is on display at the Prato Grande refuge (also open in this autumn season), managed by the “Collettivo 14”.
