An excursion between nature and mystery to discover an enchanting territory
We will then walk immersed in this fairytale environment and then return, for steep descents, to Ponte dell’Olio. The point of greatest interest is what remains of the Torretto di Montesanto, a fortification built on Roman structures. Almost the entire route will take place under oak and beech forests which we will talk about to highlight their characteristics.
Particular attention will also be paid to the geomorphology of the Trebbia Valley, to the sedimentary rocks, including arenaceous, siltstone, clay and limestone, and to the “tectonic windows” that show the internal structure of the Apennines.
