On 11 and 12 April, the Middle and Sprint trials will take place in the Boschi di Carrega in Sala Baganza and the Parco delle Colonie Padane. A two-day event that will also be open to beginners.
Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 April 2026 will be an unmissable two-day event for lovers of outdoor sports capable of combining competitiveness, discovery of the territory and a profound educational-value value.
The Italian Orienteering Cup will experience a double challenge that will have as its scenario, respectively, the Regional Park of the Boschi di Carrega in the territory of Sala Baganza (Parma) and the Park of the Colonie Padane in Cremona, with a complete program designed for a weekend that promises to be original and in the name of fun.
On Saturday afternoon, starting at 2.30 pm, the Boschi di Carrega will be the scene of the Middle race. A total immersion in nature, where the ability to read the map among meadows, centuries-old trees and eighteenth-century architecture will be able to test the precision of the participants, both the most trained and the neophytes who want to get involved.
On Sunday 12 April, the scene will move to the Cremona park for the spectacular Coppa Italia Sprint. From 11 a.m., with a logistical base at the large Azzurri d’Italia car park, the competitors will compete in a very fast race, testing the aerobic and athletic power of the beginning of the season. Half a thousand loyal fans from all over Italy, in a context of color and unprecedented and genuine fun.
The two events will also be broadcast on Rai Sport.
A Sport for All: The Inclusion of Rookies in Elite Events
The extraordinary aspect of Orienteering is its ability to be a discipline for the athletic elite but, at the same time, a perfect activity for anyone. Both days are, in fact, open to runners, beginners, families, children and those who want to approach it even just out of curiosity. For beginners there are specific routes, characterized by short lengths and checkpoints located along obvious paths. No previous experience is necessary: it is possible to register directly on site and receive from the federal technicians the basics on how to orient the map and use the compass.
