The festive air of the Summer
Solstice For millennia, humanity has been enveloped by the festive air that accompanies the upcoming Summer Solstice. It is the moment when the light reaches its peak and Nature invites you to slow down, to listen, to share. On this magical occasion, the donkeys gently welcome those who wish to meet them: between cuddles, caresses and looks full of calm, a suspended time opens up, made of simplicity and authentic connection. After a picnic in the countryside, the pace becomes slower and quieter: the forest paths are waiting to be walked in the glow of a firefly.
The forest that lights up
When the sun gives way to night, the “Piana Marchesi” is transformed into an enchanted place. This oak forest, of great forest and naturalistic interest, preserves a precious balance between life, light and silence. Walking among the trees, the gaze opens up towards the north-east, where beyond the foliage of the trees you can see the Val Taro. It is here that you can perceive the difference between natural and artificial light: the light pollution that blurs the sky becomes an invitation to reflect.
Stories of fireflies and nature
During the walk, stories and tales dedicated to this small and bright insect will accompany young and old. The fireflies, with their silent dance, remind us that authentic beauty does not need clamour. Their discreet light is a message of harmony, a call to rediscover the value of darkness as a space for listening and contemplation.
An invitation to “turn off the lights and turn on the mind”
Upon returning, Nature itself sends an urgent message: turn off the superfluous lights, turn on the mind and heart. Reducing the waste of resources means giving the world back its natural rhythm, allowing the darkness to become poetry again. Participating in this experience means celebrating the upcoming Summer Solstice in an authentic way, between encounters, silences and wonder.

It is possible to join the entire initiative or choose only the evening excursion: in any case, it will be an evening in which the light of the fireflies and the inner light meet, in the heart of the woods.

Meeting point: Friday 19 June 2026 at 7.00 pm at the Asinando Educational Farm in Via alla Pieve, 1 – Talignano, in the municipality of Sala Baganza (PR). End of the excursion: 10.45 pm.

Required equipment: “layered” clothing, light trousers (preferably long), shoes with non-slip soles, waterproof jacket and/or rain cape, comfortable backpack with insect repellent and personal supply of water of at least 1.5 liters, mat or towel, flashlight preferably headlamp (for safety reasons, it is not possible to use your mobile phone as a flashlight), packed dinner
