Excursion immersed in the darkness of the paths, through a varied and somewhat adventurous route through woods, gullies, numerous streams and through vast meadows in the Regional Nature Reserve and WWF Oasis of the Ghirardi.

The resolute calls of challenge launched in autumn by the males in love are one of the most evocative spectacles of our woods. A concert of sounds that spreads even kilometers away along the ridges and valleys of the Alps and Apennines.

Listening to the bellows of the deer in the twilight of the Ottumna, with the last rays of light filtering through the colorful leaves, is a fascinating experience, which, with a bit of luck, we hope to be able to live this evening too.

Meeting point: Saturday 04 October 2025 at 3.15 pm at the Cà Cigolara farmhouse, in Località Cacigolara 8, in the municipality of Borgo Val di Taro (PR). End of the excursion: 6.30 pm.

Required equipment: comfortable clothes, hiking shoes with vibram soles, anti-insect spray, trekking poles (if used to use), head torch and water.
