The Monte Polo ring is a journey into the living geology of the Apennines.

You will walk among the imposing sandstone and flysch formations, where millennial erosion has sculpted vertical walls and spectacular accumulations of debris.

In autumn, the landscape is stripped bare, revealing the bare architecture of the mountain, which we find intact in the village of Roccaferrara Superiore: here the stone is not just a path, but becomes a home, in a perfect symbiosis between man and nature where the town seems to emerge directly from the bowels of the earth.

Difference in altitude: 605 m – length 12.5 km

Degree of difficulty: E-EE (short sections)

Meeting point: Sunday 13 September 2026 at 08.30 a.m. at the Silara Pass, in the municipality of Berceto (PR). Expected end at about 5.00 p.m.

Required equipment: hiking shoes, in good condition, with Vibram sculpted sole, (NO sneakers), backpack (NO shoulder bags), hiking clothing, windproof/rain jacket (to keep in the backpack), sunglasses, sunscreen, hat, water bottle with at least 1.5-2 L of water or hot drink, packed lunch and snack, Recommended: trekking poles, long pants, in case of wind: wool cap and gloves, complete change in the car, including shoes.
