For all the weekends of July and August many proposals for all ages at the Mushroom Museum of Borgotaro, reservations required at 0525-96796 or by mail at prenotazione.fungo@museidelcibo.it

Activities for children and families:

MUSHROOMS AND FAIRIES – Museum of Porcini Mushroom of Borgotaro

Art workshops for children from 7 years held by the painter and sculptor Patricia Solari

14 July at 10 am

21 July at 4 pm

28 July at 10 am

A “real” painter will guide us in observing the many naturalistic and fantasy images that we will discover at the museum. Armed with sheets, brushes and colors we will try to try our hand at reproductions from life of mushrooms and other natural elements present at the museum (forest, trees, leaves) as well as legendary elements, such as fairy tale characters (fairies, goblins, etc.).

Every day we will explore different techniques, from watercolor to drawing, to modeling paste, ready to continue this “artistic attack” even at home observing the nature that surrounds us!

Duration of the workshops 2 hours

Cost: 7 euros per child, including all materials

TO MAKE A MUSHROOM IT TAKES… A FOREST! – Oasi WWW dei Ghirardi and Museo del Fungo Porcino di Borgotaro

Naturalistic excursion also suitable for families with children

1 July at 10 am

2 July at 3 pm

8 July at 10 am

9 July at 3 pm

22 July at 10 am

23 July at 3 pm

The layout of the Mushroom Museum is reminiscent of a forest, because… There is no mushroom without forest! But what is a forest? For many it is simply a collection of trees, but in reality it is something else! A natural environment on which the air we breathe and the water we drink depends, formed by trees, shrubs, herbs, ferns, lichens, mosses, bacteria, animals and at the center of which fungi weave their relationships, even physically through an underground network of hyphae that connects the roots of woody and herbaceous plants in a gigantic exchange of water, microelements and even information!

We discover all this by observing the clues in the undergrowth, in an easy walk suitable for everyone, full of naturalistic ideas.

Departure from the Visitor Center of the Ghirardi Reserve

Duration of the excursion 3 h

Cost: free under 6 years, 5 euros between 6 and 14 years, 10 euros for all others.

Participation entitles you to free admission to the Mushroom Museum. Possibility to follow a guided tour with an additional cost.
