Starting from the square of the school camp, we will snowshoe in the beech forest which, climbing towards the ridge of the Caio, alternates with beautiful clearings that seem enchanted under the white blanket of snow.

Slopes that are never excessive and a beautiful variety of panoramas and environments will lead us to slowly reach the ridge of Monte Caio, from which the gaze will be able to sweep over the entire Parma and Reggio Emilia Apennines. After having covered a large stretch of the Caio ridge, and enjoyed the well-deserved view, we will take our time to get back on the road and descend towards the school field through small paths at the edge of the forest alongside the slopes.

Total difference in altitude: about 300 m ascent and 300 m descent

Meeting point: Sunday 11 January 2026 at 09.30 a.m. in Piazzale Noè Bocchi in Schia, in front of Doriano Sport, in the municipality of Tizzano Val Parma (PR). End of the excursion: 1.00 pm.

Required equipment: cap, scarf, gloves, boots, and anything else useful for a winter excursion. Snowshoes (not included in the participation fee), which can also be rented on site with reservation to the guide
