A journey through history, legends, spontaneous architecture in a village out of time

Saturday 18 July 2026Starting from the Silara Pass we will walk along the old path that leads to the tiny villages of Fontanagrossa and Madone, real stone treasure chests, walking through the panoramic pastures rich in the most varied botanical species.

Upon arrival, we will visit the village of Roccaferrara Superiore, an ancient fortress in the Upper Parma Valley clinging to a steep spur of rock and discover its history, legends and curiosities.

Difference in altitude: +/-354 m approx.

Degree of difficulty: T-easy

Meeting point: Saturday 18 July 2026 at 09.30 a.m. at the Passo del Silara car park, in the municipality of Berceto (PR). Return scheduled at 1.00 pm.

Equipment required: hiking shoes, kway, personal water supply, trekking poles recommended
