‘Poetic entanglements: when poetry meets music’: thanks to the artistic project of the Collecchiese choir ‘Mario Dellapina’, an exceptional concert is scheduled that naturally compares choral compositions from different eras inspired by poetic texts, highlighting the connections between the poetic message and the musical language.
The appointment, in collaboration with the Municipality of Collecchio, is scheduled at 5.30 pm on Saturday 4 October 2025 at the ‘Villa Soragna’ Cultural Center with free admission.
Since ancient Greek times, poetry and music have been closely linked, just think of the presence of the chorus in classical tragedy. Over time, the balance between the textual and musical parts has changed to reach the polyphonic and contrapuntal excesses of the Flemish. In the Renaissance, the text returned to be central with the madrigal, so much so that with the theorization of the ‘second practice’ Monteverdi placed ‘music as a servant of the word’.
The concert will start from this period, during which the texts of the major poets are used to compose madrigals, and then make a leap into the contemporary era, where we find the interest of some authors in creating choral compositions, inspired by poetic texts.
On this occasion, the choral pieces will be preceded by the reading of the poetic text of reference and introduced by a brief presentation.
Directed by maestro Leonardo Morini, the Dellapina choir will be accompanied by readings performed by Stefania Moroni and Cecilia Volpi, while the event will be presented by Vittorio Delsante.
