The romantic village of Castell’Arquato nestled on the first hills of the Val d’Arda, on the border between the provinces of Piacenza and Parma, hosts events every year for New Year’s Eve and Epiphany.

In the early afternoon of 31 December, L’ultima dell’anno (New Year’s Eve) is staged, a guided tour of the monumental square, the Collegiate Church and the Rocca Viscontea. At the end, a toast at the local Enoteca Comunale.

The last day of the Christmas holidays sees the arrival of the Befana at the village. As per tradition, the old woman arrives at the Rocca Viscontea on the afternoon of January 6th.
The curious Befana leaves from the Tourist Office to accompany the little ones for a walk through the village, up to the top of the tower where she empties her rich sack!
It is an event designed for families and children between 4 and 9 years old.
