Sunday 12 July 2026, appointment at 10.00 a.m. at the magnolia tobacconist bar / Tatanka Yotaka park (public gardens in the center of Berceto). Departure at 10.30 am.
From the center of Berceto along the Via Francigena to the Tuscan-Emilian ridge to discover the Roman Cisa. We will walk the path through the Monte Cavallo pine forest and then join the Via Francigena, up to the ridge, an important crossroads that meets the beginning of the Alta Via dei Parchi, at the entrance to the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines Park on the borders of Tuscany and Emilia. Admiring the wonderful views of the ridge, we will discover the centuries-old history that the pastures of Monte Valoria enclose, thanks to the presence of the director of the excavations, Professor Angelo Ghiretti. The trek will turn our gaze to the past, between resistance struggles and stories of a road as important as it is fascinating. We will finally take the return road through the Via Francigena until we reach the village of Berceto again.
Participation fee: 18 € adults; 10 € children and young people up to 16 years accompanied.
