ANPI Sala Baganza Sec. A. Maestri organizes in collaboration with the Salese Hiking Group CAI TERRITORIAL GROUP

Sunday 20 September 2026 an excursion to the places of the Monte Molinatico resistance The meeting, by own means is at 7.30 am, at the parking lot in via Roma in Sala Baganza.

The paths, woods and beech forests of Monte Molinatico, located in the Parma Apennines between the Val di Taro and Lunigiana, were the scene of refuge and transit for the local partisan bands during the Second World War and are of profound historical importance linked to the Resistance and the partisan groups of the 2nd Julia Brigade operating in the summer of 1944. Before arriving at the starting point we will make a stop at the war memorial at the church of Baselica. From the chalet we first take path 839 and then 839D which takes us to path 00, from where we will climb to the top of Mount Molinatico to continue to the Malzapello junction where we will take path 839 again which, passing by Lake Martino, takes us back to the cars. The duration of the loop, will be about 4 hours including stops, for a difference in altitude of 350 m. On the way back to the Molinatico chalet there will be refreshment at the “open bag” (everyone brings something to share with the others).

Hiking boots and poles and a supply of water are essential.
