Friday, April 22 arrives in Borgo Val di Taro the Terre di Canossa, with an edition full of surprises and characterized by enchanting passages among the Italian wonders
Friday, April 22 the streets of the center of Borgo Val di Taro will come alive at the arrival of the wonderful vintage cars of Terre di Canossa, which will parade in the heart of our town from 10:30. A stamp check is also provided.
The municipal administration is happy to welcome the passage of the event. These are the words of the councilor for tourism Stefania Mortali, who greets with pleasure all the crews and organizers: “I am honored and happy to be able to welcome such an exciting and participated classic car race.
Our roads and landscapes are “paths of beauty” that those who travel in historic vehicles can appreciate from a unique perspective. Borgo val di Taro, with its streets, its historic buildings and colorful houses becomes the ideal stage for cars that are real jewels.
The vision of the historic cars that travel through our Apennines is a romantic image that takes us back to a journey to discover a territory that lends itself to being admired but that also offers curves and adrenaline of the race … Welcome! ”
Canossa Events team also publishes a tourist-landscape guide that will be distributed to all participants, containing the description of the historical and artistic beauties of the places crossed during the race.
21-24 April 2022: the Terre di Canossa is now ready to go!
The race takes place this year on a route of about 670 km and includes 25 time trials and 4 average tests to ignite the challenge, although this year the focus is mainly on enjoying the event and the territories crossed. The Terre di Canossa is in fact a winning combination of wonderful cars and gentlemen drivers who come from afar for the opportunity to experience Italy in a special way, combining the adrenaline of competition with the pleasure of good Italian cuisine and the discovery of the territories crossed.
What’s new in the XII edition
This year, for the first time, the Terre di Canossa is a tourist regularity race and therefore opens the doors of this wonderful experience also to young co-drivers from 14 years of age. Another great novelty of this edition is the focus on the lush Garfagnana that will be intensely experienced by the participants of the event: this year two evenings and their overnight stays will be held in this lush area of Tuscany. To make the most of the many wonderful landscapes, two of the lunches will be this year on the sea: the Friday lunch will be overlooking the enchanting Gulf of Poets, while the Saturday lunch will be in front of the Versilia sea, on one of the most glamorous beaches of Forte dei Marmi. Confirmed for this twelfth edition some of the most appreciated proposals of past years: the departure from Salsomaggiore Terme, a splendid Art Nouveau city, the gala dinner signed by a great starred chef of the territory in the enchanting setting of the Castle of Tabiano, the crossing of the challenging Passo Cento Croci and Passo Pradarena, the Cinque Terre road with its suggestive views of the sea and the passage in the historic center of some of the most beautiful Tuscan cities of art like Pisa and Lucca.
A “green” event
As always, the attention to the environment by the organization that makes the Terre di Canossa a 0 impact event has been confirmed: also this year the CarbonZero protocol is voluntarily adopted, which requires the adoption of all useful measures to reduce environmental impact and calculates the residual emissions of climate-changing gases. The emissions will then be completely eliminated through the planting of new trees in the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines.
