An easy and pleasant mini-trekking experience that from the Taro Valley rises to the village and ends with a visit to the Castle of Compiano to “dispose of” festive lunches and dinners, Friday 6 January 2023, from 9 to 13, on the occasion of the Epiphany. It is organized by the Castle of Compiano. A pleasant walk through fresh chestnut and fir woods, along easy paths and dirt roads. The fascinating bulk of the Castle, located inside the historic village, will accompany during most of the journey and the views towards the upper Val Taro and the Ligurian ridges will cheer the view. An itinerary suitable for everyone, which will excite, as well as for the beauty of the track and the surrounding nature, also through the stories of anecdotes related to local culture, traditions and episodes of the “free Republic of Valtaro” which, right in these mountains, saw the light in the spring of 1944. At the end of the excursion, an interesting visit to the historic core of Compiano, counted among the “most beautiful villages in Italy” and to the eclectic collection of the house-museum Lina Raimondi Gambarotta, located inside the magnificent Castle.
