Every first weekend of September in the town of Borgonovo Val Tidone the product that has obtained the Municipal Denomination of Origin is celebrated: the Chisöla.
It is a poor product, linked to the peasant world that combines water and flour with the fatty element of animal origin, cracklings: food that is produced with pig fat. A legend has it that in ancient times this food was offered to Barbarossa’s army passing through the lands where the town of Borgonovo Val Tidone later arose. It was 1155.
