An aperitif at the top of the Cathedral or an excursion on the banks of the Po, a walk to discover the treasures of the city or the most beautiful villages in the province. On Sunday 16 October, the Emil Banca Grand Tour will stop for the first time in Piacenza. Grand Tour Emil Banca is an initiative that since 2013 has been creating value for local development, strengthening the promotion and enhancement of the economy, culture and nature of the territories in which the bank operates (now the whole of Emilia), organized in collaboration with local authorities, institutions, trade associations, companies and many associations. Also in this event there will be many activities, guided tours, excursions and tastings, open to all to discover the municipalities of Alta Val Tidone, Borgonovo Val Tidone, Castel San Giovanni, Fiorenzuola d’Arda, Monticelli d’Ongina, Piacenza and Rivergaro.
Starting from Piacenza, it will be possible to participate in a guided tour of the main monuments of the city and the wonderful Civic Museums of Palazzo Farnese. At the end of the day, an “Aperitif at high altitude” is scheduled in an exceptional location, the dome of the Cathedral of Piacenza. For nature lovers, Alta Val Tidone is scheduled a walk to discover the typical rural realities of the area, among hills, vineyards and farmhouses and a visit to the Molato Dam, a unique and evocative architectural element that gives life to Lake Trebecco. Borgonovo Val Tidone, on the other hand, will welcome participants with a visit to its splendid fortress, the current town hall, built in the thirteenth century as an “impregnable fortress” and with a workshop for families at the Archaeological Museum of Val Tidone. We will then go to “Casa del Principe” with a guided tour of the Castle of Castelnovo, a historic building surrounded by a beautiful park and a few minutes away from Borgonovo. Guided tours also in the historic centers of Castel San Giovanni, Fiorenzuola d’Arda and Rivergaro, which will revive the past and discover the present of these wonderful villages of Piacenza. Also in Rivergaro the little ones can learn all about the animals with an itinerant path in a farm known for its educational activities. Then visit Isola dei Serafini, the only inhabited area of the Po in the Municipality of Monticelli d’Ongina, whose young residents have joined together to give voice to the local community, thus enhancing the cultural, naturalistic and social richness narrated by the historical memory of the country. Also for the Piacenza appointment there will be tastings and lunches to enhance the food and wine excellence of the territory.
