Albareto is preparing to experience a particularly significant April 25th, which combines the celebration of Liberation Day with initiatives related to the 80th anniversary of the reconstitution of the Municipality of Albareto (1946-2026), an important milestone that accompanies this year’s calendar of events.

The celebrations on Saturday 25 April 2026 will kick off at 10.00 am with Holy Mass at the Parish Church of Albareto. At the end, the procession will form towards the War Memorial, with the laying of the wreath and its blessing, in a solemn moment dedicated to the memory and remembrance of those who contributed to the conquest of freedom. Also scheduled are greetings from Mayor Carlo Berni and the intervention of the official speaker Gabriele Ferrari.

The morning will then continue at 11.30 a.m. in the Council Chamber, where two sketches of the monument dedicated to Lino Bottali will be delivered, made by the Toschi Art Institute of Parma and intended for the Municipality of Albareto and the Parish of Gotra. An appointment that adds a civil and symbolic value to the anniversary, intertwining historical memory, local identity and planning for the future.

The initiatives will continue on Sunday 26 April, with a further moment of strong historical and commemorative appeal thanks to the passage of the 18th edition of the Column of Freedom, the itinerant re-enactment that crosses the places of memory of the Liberation. The day includes the meeting at 11.00 am at the Passo dei Cento Croci and then at 12.00 pm at the Boschetto di Albareto, thus inserting the municipal territory within a broader path dedicated to the memory of the Second World War and the liberation of Italy.

It will therefore be an intense and meaningful weekend, in which Albareto celebrates the values of freedom, the memory of the Resistance and the 80th anniversary of the reconstitution of its municipality, reaffirming the deep link between history, community and territory.
