Presentation of the restoration and redevelopment of the Travo Archaeological Park.
Between summer 2022 and spring 2023 the Archaeological Park was the scene of important restoration, safety and redevelopment of the Neolithic archaeological structures preserved within the area. The project, financed with funds from the Ministry of Culture and directed by the ABAP Superintendence of Parma and Piacenza, combines traditional restoration techniques with innovative green building practices, which are well suited to the landscape quality of the place. In the morning the conservation problems of the area and the processing techniques adopted will be presented, some of which have their roots in the artisan tradition and traditional knowledge, having as a priority aspect not only the protection but also sustainability. The Archaeological Park, therefore, as a place of protection and conservation but also of experimentation and research.

Excursion with guided tour of the archaeological site of the monastery of San Salvatore di Tolla in Morfasso.
The excursion of level and tourist difficulty, will have a path of about 3 km along paths, cart roads and asphalt for a total positive difference in height of about 100 meters and will reach the evocative remains of the medieval monastery of San Salvatore, where the results of excavations, restoration activities and the naturalistic aspects of the valley will be illustrated (speakers: the officials of the ABAP Superintendence for the Provinces of Parma and Piacenza arch. Ilaria Gallitelli, the Director of the Geological Museum G. Cortesi dr. Carlo Francou, the archaeologist dr. Luca Fornari and the restorer dr. Efisio Chessa). The walk does not present particular difficulties but a good attitude to mountain walks is still required. Footwear with sculpted sole and / or trekking, abundant supply of water, windproof jacket is mandatory. Recommended telescopic poles, sunglasses, hat, insect repellent, spare shirt, snack or energy bar. The excursion is organized by the collaboration between the Superintendence of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape for the provinces of Parma and Piacenza, the Municipality of Morfasso, the association Piacemilia Aps (piacemilia.it) and conducted by EVA guides.

ARCHAEOLOGICAL PARK OF TRAVO

Prehistoric
The Neolithic Village of Travo comes to life on June 18th. The village will be animated throughout the day according to the criteria of living history, which will allow you to live an experience of 6,000 years ago. The huts will in fact be animated by archaeologists in historical dress who will stage the actions and activities that were to take place here during the Neolithic.
An event characterized by the theme of ancient nutrition thanks to the demonstrations that will develop throughout the day, with the lighting of the fire, cooking in the pit, the preparation of cheese and the opportunity to see the basic elements of the Neolithic diet. There will also be a demonstration linked to the sounds of prehistory, which can be heard thanks to faithfully reproduced instruments that are ancestrally linked to the conviviality of the villages. Workshops, educational activities, guided tours will mark the day and will enrich the event with unique experiences. All times of the demonstrations in the complete program on the website.

Veleia Romana Revivit
The historical re-enactment association SPQR will populate Veleia with educational areas that will propose activities and installations related to nutrition in ancient Rome, with tastings of dishes cooked by an “archaeocuoca”, medicine, defixiones (malefic), cosmetics in the ancient world, ornaments, weaving; There will also be the opportunity for children and young people to learn by playing, for example by trying their hand at reconstructing a Roman road or the arches of an aqueduct.
