Taste will be the great protagonist of the two days in Parmesan territory of gravel cycling scheduled for 13-14 May 2023 in the Parma Valleys. On the two routes on Saturday (34 Km and 470 meters in altitude and 55 Km and 840 meters in altitude) you can taste the Felino salami accompanied with bread and local focaccia proposed by the Pro Loco of Felino and enjoy pizza with freshly cut Parma Prosciutto, accompanied by a good glass of wine from the Monte delle Vigne winery.
Back in Collecchio (departure from Piazza della Repubblica at 11:00 am and arrival at Parco Nevicati), waiting for the participants there will be the typical tortelli with herbs, potato cake, Parma Raw Ham and Parmigiano Reggiano proposed by the Unusual Bar social catering of Emc2 Onlus Collecchio. To accompany the party, the show of Gianpaolo Cantoni and the Band del Ducato, to celebrate together the first day of Gravel Gourmet.
Sunday, May 14 there are three routes proposed: the Gravel Grinder (96 km and 1640 meters in altitude starting at 8:00), the medium (62 km and 1130 meters in altitude with departure scheduled for 9:00), the short (37 km and 530 meters in altitude starting at 9:30). The starting and arrival point will be the Farnesian Garden of Rocca Sanvitale in Sala Baganza, where the food stand will be operational from 2:00 pm and the party will begin with the band UnoZeroQuattro and their 80s and 90s repertoire.
Along the way there will also be good food, starting from the Malvasia risotto creamed in Parmigiano Reggiano from the Vini Palazzo winery, without forgetting the bread and Salame di Felino. In Traversetolo the Pro Loco of Traversetolo will propose the fried cake with local cold cuts. Inevitable also sandwiches with Prosciutto Crudo di Parma, before the final stand that will offer the classic tortelli with herbs and Malvasia to accompany them.
Accreditation: Saturday in Collecchio, from 8:30 to 10:30 at Piazza della Repubblica, or in the afternoon, from 15:00 to 19:00, at Parco Nevicati. Sunday, from 7:00 to 8:30 cpresso the gardens of Rocca Sanvitale in Sala Baganza.
Online registration for Gravel Gourmet is open until May 10, 2023. It will be possible to buy the weekend package at € 105 including the route and two-day snacks, or only the Sunday package at € 75 for Sunday only. For those who want to enjoy the weekend of Gravel Gourmet in company, the Companions package is available at the price of € 45 which will offer the opportunity to enjoy snacks and the entrance ticket to the Food Museums, with shuttle service included.
During the weekend of Gravel Gourmet, the organizers will also set up an Expo area at the gardens of Rocca Sanvitale on Sunday and Parco Nevicati on Saturday. In the expo area you can get to know the gravel models of Bergamont, a brand of the SCOTT Sports group, which from this year is an official partner of the event.
At the Expo area it will be possible to deliver the worn and no longer usable tires of your bike at the Cingomma stand that will use them to make belts, wallets and other 100% green accessories. The first 200 participants who deliver their tire will receive a free key ring. A nice way to give a new way to your “traveling companions”.
