On the third weekend of August, every summer since 1977, the Pro Loco of Vezzolacca organizes the Potato Festival

from Friday 21 August to Sunday 23 August 2026 in Vezzolacca, Vernasca

Vezzolacca is the southernmost and highest hamlet of the Municipality of Vernasca, among the first mountains of the Upper Val d’Arda. Since the seventies, the soil of Vezzolacca has proved to be particularly suitable for the cultivation of potatoes, in particular of some cultivars selected for their yield in such a particular soil. Among the native varieties cultivated today: Spunta, Kennebec and Desirée.

Since 1977, the razdore (housewives) have been gathering in the kitchens of the Pro Loco to make the homemade products that the festival offers every year, all strictly based on local potatoes. To try in particular, the potato cake, prepared the night before the party to ensure maximum freshness!

Every evening: opening of the food stands at 7.00 pm.
