Cycling through the gullies, trekking to the summit for a snack and return from the medieval village

Are you ready to ride where dolphins once swam?!
A unique excursion in the Stirone and Piacenziano Park with the aim of reaching the summit of Monte Giogo. We will ride on our bicycles along the Chiavenna stream to the Church of the Madonna del Piano. Through paths that smell of broom and ancient woods, we will then face, with a hike, the ascent to Monte Giogo. We will consume our “prize” directly on the crest of the mountain, enjoying the well-deserved relaxation in one of the most important Geosites in Europe.
We will end our loop by cycling and crossing the beautiful village of Castell’arquato.

Degree of difficulty: Easy
Meeting point: Sunday 14 June 2026 at 09.15 a.m. at the Ebike rental point in Chiavenna Rocchetta, hamlet of La Torricella, in the municipality of Lugagnano Val d’Arda (PC). Expected end at about 17.00.
Required equipment: layered clothing as for summer hiking, hiking shoes with sculpted soles, any chamois to reduce friction with the saddle and bike gloves, sunglasses, backpack, water at least 1 and a half liters, packed lunch, hat with visor, insect repellent, sunscreen.

Participation costs: €20 (excluding the rental of the E-bike, available at a cost of €25 for the whole day). Places are limited: we only have 9 bicycles available. We therefore invite you to confirm your presence as soon as possible.
Of course, those who wish can participate with their own E-bike.
