On the occasion of the European Archaeology Days, which will be held from 12 to 14 June 2026, there will be a rich calendar of initiatives.

Program

Emergency Room findings. Operational guidelines and good practices in the management and conservation of archaeological finds

Friday 12 June 2026, 5 pm
Civic Center of Vigolzone (PC), Via Castignoli 2

The restorer of the ABAP Superintendence for the Provinces of Parma and Piacenza, Dr. Liliana Galatioto, will guide us on an engaging path of conservation and management of archaeological and paleontological materials. The conference, open to all and for a wide audience of enthusiasts and curious, will focus on first aid practices.
Activity carried out in collaboration with the Val Nure Archaeological Group G.A.V.N.

From bed to bed

Civic Museums of Palazzo Farnese, Piazza Cittadella n. 29, Piacenza
Discovering the magnificent bone bed of the Republican age. This is followed by a visit to the recently redeveloped chamber tomb at the Civil Hospital of Piacenza.

Archaeology in the making

Conference and guided tour of the most recent archaeological excavations in Piacenza, the finds of which are exhibited in the Archaeological Museum.

Archaeological excursion – San Salvatore di Tolla, Morfasso (PC)

Sunday 14 June 2026, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
Meeting point Pizzeria il Ranch di Morfasso (PC)
With the support of the Municipality of Morfasso and in collaboration with the ABAP Superintendence for the Provinces of Parma and Piacenza, the EVA group – Esploratori Val d’Arda – will accompany you on a walk in the suggestive territory of Morfasso (PC). The excursion will cross the Monte Moria Provincial Park leading us to the archaeological site of the abbey of San Salvatore di Tolla, the institution that in the Middle Ages represented an important stronghold of this territory. The walk does not present particular difficulties, but a good attitude to mountain routes is required: we will encounter climbs and a long descent.
Essentials: shoes with sculpted soles, long trousers for tall grass, a good supply of water, snack and packed
lunch Route: 15 km – 700 m elevation gain
