On Sunday 17 May, the timeless charm of the ancient Via Francigena meets the luxuriant beauty of the Boschi di Carrega Regional Park for a free excursion suitable for everyone.
Accompanied by the environmental hiking guide Gianpaolo Milanta, curator of the ‘Apennines’ project, participants will have the opportunity to explore an area where historical memory blends harmoniously with a unique natural landscape, in the heart of Collecchio.
The meeting is set for 8.30 a.m. at the Serraglio car park, in Via del Conventino in Collecchio, the starting point of a suggestive route between the bodies of water of Lake Switzerland and Lake Loti.
Crossing the Marchesi Plain, the group of walkers will reach the historic Romanesque parish church of Talignano and then climb the hill of Segalara.
Finally, the itinerary will touch the elegant architecture of the Casino dei Boschi and the Casinetto, to end around 1 pm at the Ponte Verde refreshment point, located a short distance from the initial parking lot.
The experience, completely free, is open to a maximum of forty participants.
The route covers a distance of about 10 kilometers with a difference in altitude of 230 meters, for an estimated actual walking time of about three and a half hours.
To ensure safety during the activity, specific equipment is required: high-ankle hiking shoes or boots with sculpted soles, layered clothing with long pants, sunglasses, rain jacket, hat and a change of clothing in the backpack. The use of trekking poles and sunscreen is also recommended.
Each participant must be equipped with a packed lunch and a supply of at least one liter of water.
For organizational reasons and protection of the protected area, the presence of dogs is not allowed.
The guide reserves the right not to accept people who are not adequately equipped and to modify the route at any time if environmental conditions make it necessary.
To participate, reservations are required by 2 p.m. on Saturday 16 May, by contacting 347 7642677.
