On Sunday, December 7, 2025, the historic center of Bobbio will come alive with the Snail Festival and the Christmas Market, an event that combines gastronomic tradition, craftsmanship and holiday spirit. In Piazza Duomo you can taste the famous “snail alla Bobbiese”, prepared according to the original recipe certified De.Co. (municipal denomination of origin) by the Ra Familia Bubieiza association, guardian of local traditions.
From the morning, the Christmas market will open its stalls, offering a wide selection of handicrafts, decorations and gift ideas. The official inauguration of the festival will then be held, followed by a guided tour of the Monastery of San Colombano, an opportunity to discover one of the symbolic places of the city. The visit is by reservation and offers participants a historical and cultural journey through art, spirituality and architecture.
The most awaited moment will be in Piazza Duomo when the free tasting of the “snails alla Bobbiese” will begin, prepared according to the recipe handed down over time by local families. This dish, typical of peasant cuisine, has become a symbol of Bobbio’s gastronomic identity and represents a perfect balance between simplicity and flavor.
In the afternoon, Piazza Santa Fara, in front of the Monastery of San Colombano, will host a show of fiery juggling and magic, a moment of entertainment designed for adults and children that will close the day with a touch of wonder.
