The Amateur Astronomers Group of Piacenza aps. proposes the usual summer event: E… Stay with the stars!
These are mainly observational evenings, open to all, without reservation.
A maxi-screen will be set up to allow the vision of astronomical objects framed by the main telescope, placed in the dome and operated by one of our operators. Each astronomical object framed will be commented by our experts.
During each evening a part will be dedicated to the identification of the various constellations visible in the sky, with the help of a pointing laser.
For those who wish, it will be possible to make a short accompanied visit to the observatory where the telescopes are housed.
Program:
Live observation on a maxi-screen of the Moon
When: Friday 5 August, entrance at 21.00
Where: Astronomical Observatory of Lazzarello
Astronomical observation of the Moon in the first quarter, of the planet Saturn and of some objects of the “deep sky” (in particular globular clusters of stars and planetary nebulae). Identification with the naked eye of the main summer constellations thanks to the help of an expert amateur astronomer equipped with a pointing laser. Commented projection on a maxi-screen of astrophotographic images of the deep sky, filmed and elaborated previously by our astrophotographers.
Live Perseids Observation
When: Friday 12 August, admission at 21.00*
Where: Astronomical Observatory of Lazzarello
An attempt to observe the Perseids will follow, despite the presence of the full Moon.
Live observation on maxi-screen of the Moon and the planet Saturn. Identification with the naked eye of the main summer constellations thanks to the help of an expert amateur astronomer equipped with a pointing laser. Projection on a maxi-screen of astrophotographic images of the deep sky, taken and processed previously by our astrophotographers.
*From 20:00 available to participate in the dinner of polenta with wild boar or cheese.

Programming time of all evenings:
Entry into the observatory area will be allowed from 21:00; astronomical observations will begin after 21:30.
On August 12th * entrance from 7.45 pm for those who want to favor a polenta dinner. All activities will take place outdoors, however it is recommended to use a mask and distance for preventive purposes. We recommend appropriate clothing as the observatory is at 800 m above sea level.
A free offer at the entrance is appreciated, intended for the maintenance of the area used as an Astronomical Observatory.
In case of bad weather consult the www.astrofilipc.it website, for a possible cancellation of the evening.
