News

It’s called Streets and squares of Nibbiano, a brief history of denominations, the book with which Alberto Borghi, scholar and passionate about local history also known for having been mayor of Nibbiano between 1992 and 2004, attempts a work of mending the collective memory starting from thetudio of the names of streets and squares.
Leafing through the book we learn, for example, that in Nibbiano grapes and apples were once squeezed for the production of cider in a canton called del Torchio, today Vicolo Matteotti. There are also references to personalities such as the pharmacist Luciano Sozzi, the historian doctor conducted Pietro Manara, Concetta Marozza first woman elected to the city council in Nibbiano and first woman to become councilor. Some postcards are reproduced that portray the Nibbiano of the past, maps and maps that document how the territory has changed and how urban planning has changed.
