Reading is a precious passion to cultivate. A book allows you to experience impossible stories, to cross distant eras and places, to learn about realities that often you did not even imagine existed. Reading enriches one’s cultural baggage, opens the mind, stimulates critical thinking and helps to look at the world with new eyes. Not only that: reading keeps the brain active and dynamic, exercises memory and also represents an important opportunity for personal well-being, helping to reduce stress and daily tensions.

It is precisely within this panorama that, at the Angela Gotelli Public Municipal Library in Albareto, housed in the Town Hall, the reading group “La combriccola del libro” brings together people every month united by the love for stories, curiosity and the desire for comparison. The meetings thus become precious opportunities to share opinions, reflections and emotions related to the books read, but also to recommend new readings and discover different authors, genres and points of view.

The most beautiful aspect of the initiative is perhaps its spontaneity: the group was born directly from the will and enthusiasm of some citizens who chose to transform a personal passion into a collective experience open to the community. Although the project was born a short time ago, it is already attracting interest and participation, demonstrating how much there is still a need for authentic cultural spaces, capable of creating relationships, dialogue and new stimuli.

“La combriccola del libro” thus represents not only a reading group, but also a small example of a community that meets around culture, enhancing the library as a living, dynamic place capable of uniting people through the pleasure of reading.

Also in Borgo Val di Taro, shared reading is becoming an opportunity for meeting and participation thanks to “Attimo Bookclub”, the reading group of the Manara Library. Created to create a space open to dialogue and discussion between readers, the group offers moments dedicated to the discussion of books, authors and cultural themes, involving enthusiasts of different ages and helping to animate the cultural life of the library. An experience that confirms how reading groups today represent not only a way to get closer to books, but also valuable tools for building relationships, communities and new opportunities for shared cultural growth.
