The Italian Deaf Sports Federation has defined the calendar of year-end meetings of its national teams at the Federal Mountain Center established at the beginning of 2022 thanks to the support of the Emilia-Romagna Region as part of the Sport Valley project. In the short span of a month and a half there will be five appointments that will bring sports stays of Italian representatives and technicians in the Reggio Apennines.

The first national team to arrive in Castelnovo ne’ Monti on Friday 18 November will be that of 11-a-side football that for three days will train at the Stadium of the Centro Coni and at the synthetic “Giovanni Malagoli”. During the meeting the team will also play a friendly match at the Mapei Football Center against the Under 18 national team of Sassuolo Calcio. An appointment that will see the Azzurri move to Sassuolo for the race and then immediately return to Castelnovo ne’ Monti. In the following weeks, one after the other, the deaf national teams of Tennis, Men’s Volleyball and Women’s Basketball will arrive. The teams will stay at the hotels of the country that have joined the Sports Tourism Convention of the Municipality of Castelnovo ne Monti. To the various periods of stay of the blue teams will also be added the stay in the Apennines for a weekend of the many Technical Directors of the blue representatives of all sports disciplines of the Deaf Sports Federation. The updating activities of the Technicians will take place at the Bismantova Theater. In a period of low season the project of the Federal Deaf Sports Center will bring about 200 presences in the Apennines and will make the territory known to athletes, technicians and many professionals in the sport of the deaf. For some athletes it will also be an opportunity to access the S. Anna Hospital and undergo audiometric screening useful for Olympic eligibility. The various stages will collaborate with the sports clubs of the territory, including LG Competition, Appennino Volley Team, Progetto Atletic Montagna, Circolo Tennis Appennino Reggiano, but also Sassuolo Calcio, Basket Team Puianello and Modena Volley who have confirmed the availability of their own formations for friendly competitions and joint training with the blue teams. The five appointments of November and December are added to the seven meetings of National Deaf Sports already hosted at the Federal Center in the current year.
