Evening excursion
We will follow a panoramic itinerary characteristic for the beauty of the lakes that touch, high and suggestive, often just below the ridge. The whole series of these high altitude lakes have a great landscape suggestion and a great naturalistic importance, given the altitude and therefore the climatic peculiarity. We will reach the Passo del Giovarello to continue on the ridge to Monte Bocco where we can admire the sunset. We will descend to Prato Spilla in the light of the almost full moon already high in the sky.
Technical details:It starts from the parking lot of Prato Spilla (1,350 m asl) Follow the CAI 707 path towards Lake Ballano then take the CAI 707-a path that leads to Lake Verde (1,490 m asl); we do not go down to the lake but continue on path 707 to the left that enters the woods to arrive in a grassy valley where we find the Cagnin Hut (1,590 m asl). Once you arrive at Capanna Cagnin continue starting to climb towards the ridge; First you cross a forest of twisted beech trees, you reach a large inclined plate left over from the last glaciation and you find yourself among large upper meadows covered with blueberry bushes. Going up towards the ridge you meet Lake Martini (1,714 m asl) and after crossing the path 705 that leads to Prato Spilla you arrive on the ridge at Passo Giovarello (1,754 m asl) We are on the ridge that separates Emilia Romagna from Tuscany and now we begin to walk the path 00; keeping to the left, between numerous ups and downs, you reach Monte Uomo Morto (1773 m asl) and finally the destination of our excursion, Monte Bocco (1790 m asl). From here we can admire the Gulf of La Spezia, Palmaria, Tino, Tinetto and the sunset. The return will take place through Foce Banciola (1680 m asl) and the path that descends to the town of Prato Spilla.
