Evening dedicated to deepening issues related to the Beatles, but also to their “children”, that is, all those groups and movements that were born under the influence of the Liverpool quartet.

The show
“Trial of Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” starts from this assumption: Sgt Pepper’s
it is considered the masterpiece of the Beatles, but are we sure that it is really so? Could it not be that, in all these years, we have been dazzled by a rhetoric that now seems impossible to question?
How the show takes place
Two people on stage bounce the word in Sgt Pepper’s game of “accusation” and “defense” and in doing so tell the story of the album. The story is interspersed with videos of the most beautiful songs of Sgt Pepper’s
The story of the album is told in a complete but light way, focusing on irony and staying away from “academic lesson” tones.

The authors and performers of the show are:
Riccardo Russino
Born in 1972, journalist, lives and works in Milan. He is co-author of “The great story of Paul McCartney” (Hoepli, 2022), “John Lennon – Songs, history and translations” (Diarkos, 2020) and “Paul McCartney – Records and mysteries after the Beatles” (Editori Riuniti, 2003). On November 27, 2022 he organized in Milan, with Davide Verazzani, “BeatlesMi – Un giorno con i Fab4” which had as a guest Pattie Boyd, first wife of George Harrison; from December to January 2018 for the Municipality of Segrate he curated the exhibition “From India to the Yellow Submarine – the 1968 of the Beatles”.

Davide Verazzani
Born in Milan in November 1965. Graduated in Economics, after a few years of work as a manager in large-scale retail companies and organizational consultant he retrained as a cultural operator, writer and theatrical author. He has always been Beatlesian, and in 2015 a show based on one of his texts dedicated to Neil Aspinall and the Beatles participates in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and then goes on tour in Scotland and London. From the text will draw the book ”
The Last Beatle
the only biography in the world on Neil Aspinall, published by Bietti editions in 2017.
In 2020 he will publish, again for Bietti, “Magical Cinema Tour”, an agile e-book in which he tells the cinematographic exploits of the Fab Four. He has been carrying on the narrative theater project “Fatti di Storia” since 2016, he is one of the founders in 2017 of the Milanese film club Il Cinemino and since 2019 he has organized and directed the FringeMI Festival. He dreams of one day playing “I’ve Just Seen A Face” with Paul McCartney.
