The traditional celebrations of the patron saint San Maurizio, which effectively close the summer season of Pianello, combine as usual the events of the patronal festival to the appointment of the Valtidone Wine Fest, the largest festival of Piacenza wine, now in its fourteenth edition, scheduled for Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 September.
Saturday Pianellese will come alive with proposals and initiatives for all tastes. Between sport and free time you can participate in the third edition of Pianello in Marcia: “There will be three routes of varying difficulty, with departure and arrival at the municipal swimming pool, where it will be possible to take a shower and taste the sandwich with cotechino prepared by the Pro Loco”, recalls the organizer Francesco Cagni. In addition, there will be the first edition of Boxing in Val Tidone, with the preparation of 10 matches of the noble art. In the streets of the town you will find the “Sbaracco”, organized by the local merchants of the committee Valoriiamo Pianello and the small antiques market, while the Pro Loco will be active already in the afternoon for the typical cotechini and then with the traditional stands and ballroom dancing in the evening. “We will then be open with the stands of local products and dishes on Sunday all day – recalls the president of the association, Luciano Veneziani – and at 5 pm we will have the performance of accordions also with young artists and the Kevin orchestra, then closing with another evening in which you can dance”.
Saturday evening to animate will also be the sky of Pianello, thanks to the expected fireworks show (from about 23) offered by the municipal administration in collaboration with the Pianello Frizzante Association and the Pro Loco. Highlight day, Sunday 24, which starts early with the presence in the streets of the town of over 60 stands of producers, companies and wine cellars, in addition to the antiques market. Official inauguration after the procession of flag-wavers of Cerreto Guidi from the Municipality to Piazza Madonna, at 10.30 am. Under the stand of the Valtidone Wine Fest you can taste local wines, but not only and dishes and typical products, from batarò to tortelli, from cold cuts to pisarei, to risotto. “The tasting stands will be open all day, until 20.00 – recalls Castellini – with the possibility of having lunch and tasting the local culinary proposals combined with wines”.
In the afternoon, after the new show of the flag-wavers of the Tuscan twin town of Cerreto Guidi, two other appointments to mark on the agenda. At 5 pm, in Piazza Madonna, there will be the presentation of the book “ISA”, by the starred chef Isa Mazzocchi of the La Palta Restaurant in Bilegno, who will dialogue with the director of “TV Sorrisi e Canzoni” Aldo Vitali, with the mayor of Pianello, Gianpaolo Fornasari and the librarian Gianluca Misso. “I am very flattered by the invitation received from the municipal administration to come and present this book – comments Isa Mazzocchi -. It is a collection of recipes, but also of stories of La Palta. I am happy to come to Pianello, which is a town that I adore, and very excited to be close to Aldo Vitali. “The pleasure and honor are mine – replied the famous journalist -. I am happy every time I can make a contribution, even a small one, to a valley that welcomed me 12 years ago, first as a visitor and today as an inhabitant. I have known Isa and her restaurant for several years; She is an exceptional person and I am very pleased to talk to her, perhaps discovering some secrets of her cuisine”.
Also in Piazza Madonna, finally, at 6.30 pm the cutting of the cake celebrating the 15th anniversary of Pianello Frizzante, the association that “with the presidency of Dionisio Genesi and his collaborators – recalls Castellini – has always worked to effectively promote our territory and its agri-food excellence”. Thanks come for “all those who collaborate in the realization of these events, from municipal employees to volunteers, from the Italian Red Cross to the police, to the secretariat of the event, the precious Fabbiana Bianchi. The Valtidone Wine Fest – recalls the deputy mayor – is the result of a precious collaboration between administrations, the extraordinary commitment of wine producers and those who also support it economically as our sponsors”. A concept reiterated by the councilor Daniela Pilla, who recalls how “San Maurizio and its festival have always tried to be a stimulus to promote the territory through the union of excellences. To this has been added the Valtidone Wine Fest and also this year thanks to many events we have an important demonstration “.
